2019 Virginia Hockey Summer/Fall Dry Land Training

We are happy to announce the return of dry land training in our Back Rink.  This will be offered to VAHA 2019-20 Peewees and Bantams as well as our Virginia High School players.  The training is free of charge.

Equipment needed to participate includes tennis shoes, gloves, stick and a water bottle.

Your player must display proper behavior which includes showing respect for the facility, dry land equipment, fellow players and any adult who is supervising.  Warnings will be given for improper behavior and parents will be contacted to remove their child if need be.

We would like to thank Cale Finseth, his coaching staff and a handful of boys high school players for helping set up the back rink for this year’s dry land training.

Sessions will include shooting, stick handling, and varied exercises which will improve athletic ability.

We encourage multi-sport athletes.  This is in no way to replace a Summer/fall sport but is to compliment other sports, keep our players active and sharpen their skills and athleticism.

Schedule:  Bantams are Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30-5:30 pm

Peewees are Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30-7:00 pm

High Schoolers are Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:45-4:45 pm

Dates: Starting  Monday July 15 and ending TBD.

If for some reason, there is not an adult present DO NOT drop off your child and leave.  Please wait for a volunteer to be present.  Also, be early to pick up your child.

2019-20 Season Volunteer Opportunities

Our Program is completely run by volunteer.   Each player's family is required to cover: 5 shifts including 2 in the concession.  Other opportunities include time clock, score keeper, and penalty box.  Team managers will track shifts & fill in those players' families who do not fill the shifts themselves.  If you have multiple players in the program, you will have to work 10 shifts.  Please do your share to help!  These shifts DO NOT include the additional tournament and jamboree expectations.

If you feel that you need training in any of the volunteer opportunities please contact Naomi at 218-750-4509 or

For weekly schedules check out the Calendar tab at the top of the page.

If you can't see the schedule you will have to go to the bottom of the calendar page and click on the Tag menu.  Make sure that the calendar tag is checked.   We appreciate your patience while our new scheduler works through the kinks to make things easier for all of us.

Effective immediately, ALL GIRLS participating in VAHA as well as the coop program with Eveleth Gilbert’s 12U program, are REQUIRED to dress in South 3. This has been dedicated for girls/women only. Please have skate guards so you can access the back rink as we do not have skate friendly floor by the Zamboni doors or out the back door.

NO equipment may be left in the locker room as it will be used for tournaments/jamborees and High School games.

In the event that VAHA and the 12U program have ice time during the same times, the locker room is still to be shared. The 12U program has been a part of this discussion and is aware that ALL girls will use it.

Thank you.
